There are two postdoc positions available in Dr. Shuo Xiao's lab at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (
EOHSI)/Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University. These two positions are funded by grants from the National Institute of Environmental Health (
NIEHS) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Xiao's research team focuses on how environmental chemicals and clinical drugs affect female ovarian functions and fertility. Another major research interest is to use the 3D ovarian tissue culture model and microfluidic and organ-on-a-chip technologies for new contraceptive discovery. The candidates will focus on 1-2 of the following projects: (1) molecular mechanisms of female ovarian toxicities caused by harmful algal bloom toxins and other emerging climate change-related environmental contaminants; (2) novel ovulation-based contraceptive discovery; (3) molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced premature ovarian failure and infertility.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Qualified candidates are required to have a PhD or an equivalent doctoral degree, experience in molecular biology, animal science, or reproductive and developmental biology or toxicology. Candidates should also be able to work independently, employ critical thinking, perform team science, and have good oral and written communications skills. |
