Molex is seeking a highly visible leadership role for an experienced Firmware Engineer. In this role, you will be integral to developing cutting-edge 224 Gbps active cable solutions, leveraging innovative transceiver chips and highly optimized high-speed circuitry. Active Electrical Cables (AEC) play a crucial role in the data communication industry by offering cost-effective, flexible, and low-power solutions. Your responsibilities will include architecting, evaluating, validating, and designing real-time firmware. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our Hyperscale customers and marketing teams to understand their application needs and translate those requirements into top-tier, innovative, and high-quality solutions.

Our Team

Molex is looking for a Lead Firmware Engineer to support and develop Active cable designs for Hyperscalers. Our business is witnessing tremendous growth owing to the increasing need for cloud services and higher data transfer rates. You will be working under leadership that has been setting and driving industry standards in data centers for more than 30 years.

This position is eligible for hybrid or remote work for the right candidate with travel to our global HQ in Lisle.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelors in Electronics or Computer Science
* Strong experience in C and C++
* Developing firmware for ARM Cortex M-Processors
* Strong work experience of serial protocols like I2C, SPI, MDIO, UART etc.
* Experience with optical pluggable modules like SFP or QSFP and CMIS
* Ability to work in a cross functional team
* Experience in integration & debug in complex systems
* Experience in developing Python scripts to support firmware loading and validation
* Experience in interfacing chips with APIs and implementing chip APIs in microcontrollers
* Experience in firmware version control using GitLab

What Will Put You Ahead
* Master's Degree or Doctorate in Electronics or Computer Science
* Experience with STM32 microcontroller
* Experience with hardware development and signal integrity
* Knowledge and experience of RTOS development

This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
