Position Summary

The Sr. Training Specialist - Support Services (EVS) is responsible for coordinating and managing processes related to staff training and development, staff retention improvement activities, patient experience and satisfaction as well as regulatory compliance training. Develops procedures and leads and/or contributes to department quality initiatives and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, coordinates and implements core training programs and systems (cleaning and disinfection practices, protocols, auditing tools, competencies, job aides, in-services, skills labs, etc.).
  • Develops and utilizes appropriate evaluation systems to measure effectiveness of educational activities and uses feedback to adjust programs accordingly in collaberation with Training Manager.
  • Provides comprehensive oversight of new hires throughout the onboarding and training process.
  • Provides the initial department assessment, evaluating the new hire's willingness and ability to learn and display competencies to perform the assigned tasks.
  • Interfaces with human potential and department managers to ensure successful organizational and departmental orientation as well as technical training of assigned job responsibilities consistent with best practice.
  • Proactively handles any improvement opportunities or concerns. Leads or participates in performance improvement projects and process improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Associates degree (communication, adult education, training or related field); equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Three (3) years of experience in EVS or other Acute Care support services such as Nutrition Services
  • Experience training team members
  • Designated trainer for Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (T-CHEST) or must obtain within 6 months of placement in the job
  • Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (T-CSCT) or must obtain within 6 months of placement in the job
  • Serve Safe Certified or must obtain within 6 months of placement in the job.
  • Employee must provide automobile for use in their work and the employee must be able to comply with MHS Policy on Vehicle Use, Employee Owned. Policy available on request

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $52,154.00 - $75,029.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
