Earth Sciences and Engineering

Job Description

The Earth Sciences and Engineering department at Missouri S&T is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for a project focused on Caron Mineralization Reactions and their in situ uses for critical mineral recovery. The research project combines an approach based on geochemical mineral characterization and subsequent numerical modeling of fluid flow processes to study the effects of the mineralization on stability and enhanced extractability of energy-relevant minerals. The project is supported by the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy, a United States government agency tasked with promoting and funding research and development of advanced energy technologies.

Qualifications

PhD in Geoscience Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering, or similar field.

Applicants having experience in numerical fluid flow simulation are highly desired. Applicants with experience in CMG and the STARS sub package will receive preferred consideration.
For this project the candidate will work directly with scientists in civil, mining and material science and engineering. We favor candidates with independent thinking, strong teamwork and communication skills; working hours are flexible and aimed at reaching the project goals.

Applicants with a valid US work permit are preferred.

Application Materials

Applicants are encouraged to submit a current resume, a research statement documenting their experience and relevance to the project, and contact information for three references.

Application Deadline

Applications will be accepted until this position is filled.
