Staff Transportation Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Job Summary

Fishbeck is actively seeking a talented Transportation Engineer to work in our Indianapolis, IN office. Will have the opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by some of the best technical professionals in the state on projects that will impact local communities for years to come. Primary Function


  • Designing roads, bridges, and other civil/transportation-related projects.
  • Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD and/or OpenRoads Designer.
  • Work closely with technical staff to provide design exhibits and calculations for multiple design disciplines, including roadway design, grading, drainage, erosion control, and maintenance of traffic. Demonstrate practical civil engineering knowledge
  • Interact daily with project teams in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment.
  • May be asked to assist in field survey or construction inspection duties.


Minimum Physical Requirements

Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking. May perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and from projects is required. Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes. Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.

Desired Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering

Desired Skills/Experience


  • Willingness to learn.
  • 0-4+ years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Experience with INDOT projects is helpful.
  • EIT desired.
