Your Role with Us:

Salem Health is seeking a dedicated Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) to join our esteemed team. In this role, you will lead a high quality of patient care through supervision and development of the provider teams. The ACMO is a responsible for the oversight of all medical care within the care team while being an active a member of the organization's leadership team and provides leadership, guidance, and motivation to ensure the best environment for quality, patient-centered care and medical education by facilitating and encouraging positive and productive medical staff interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing assigned Medical Directors in a collaborative and positive way while meeting quality outcomes and productivity measurements.
  • Implements, oversees, and communicates new quality initiatives and is responsible for setting and monitoring the achievement of provider productivity standards.
  • Works under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer to develop and review clinical policies, guidelines and protocols; ensures current and ongoing training is available to providers in the areas of compliance/risk management programs, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in the improvement of patient care processes and Epic coding to ensure accurate and complete coding is utilized.
  • Positively engages to provide education, development, and mentorship and conducts ongoing coaching to drive improved performance for physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Assists Chief Medical Officer in preparing a monthly report for the Board of Directors, and other meetings, outlining quality assurance reports, medical audit findings, policy and procedures status reports, and monthly provider productivity outcomes etc.
  • Acts as a champion for Lean activities to further building the effectiveness and efficiency.

Background/Expertise:

  • 5 years of experience in a Physician Leadership role Experience working with electronic medical records Medical Director
  • Current, or able to obtain, active unrestricted Oregon medical license
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Applicants who are not Board Certified must obtain board certification within 5 years of completions of the applicable residency and/or fellowship program
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology is highly preferred.
