Position Summary:
Superintendent will be responsible for taking full control of all onsite coordination and production for project located at Arlington, VA. Responsible for: Planning and oversight of the construction site facilities procurement and deployment, labor relations interfaces, manpower planning, mobilization planning and execution, site temporary facilities planning and set-up, input to and support of the project cost estimate and schedule development, input and development of subcontract work scopes. Essential Functions: - Experienced project superintendent with DOD background with building renovation and new construction experience - Capable of coordinating with many Subcontractors - Capable of working and coordinating large site team on an effective level - Schedule driven - capable of managing schedule processes on a daily basis and long term of project success - Skillful communicator for client/subcontractors - Makes recommendations and participates in the planning of construction operations - Provides detailed scheduling of daily construction activities and coordinates between the client, company and subcontractors to avoid conflicts - Supervises all activities related to the field; reviews and approves field manpower requisitions for the employment of craft labor - Good problem solving skills and understanding how to resolve issues at the lowest level - Excellent team player Qualifications: - High School with Trade School/degree preferred - 30 Hour OSHA certified - 10 years DOD experience on projects larger than 12 million - Army Corps experience preferred - Understanding of DOD and Army Corps protocols - Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Skills/Competencies: Able to perform the following activities: standing and walking for long periods of time, stooping, bending, climbing (ladder, scaffolding, steps, etc.), driving trucks and construction equipment. Ability to push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects. Able to withstand weather elements (including but not limited to heat, wind, rain, etc.). Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices. Proven leadership and supervisory capability is required.
