Champ Landfill, aWasteConnections company, is looking for aLandfill Gas & Liquids Laborerto join the team inSt. Louis, MO!

The schedule will be Monday-Friday primarily, with occasional required overtime and weekend work.

The pay range for this position is$22-25/hour,depending on experience. We also offer great family benefits, a 401k match and paid time off.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in installing gas collection wells, pipes, and other infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on gas collection systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Regularly monitor gas wells and other collection points to measure gas levels, pressure, and flow.
  • Use specialized equipment to detect and record methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and other gases.
  • Accurately record data from monitoring activities.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues within the gas collection system based on monitoring data.
  • Ensure that gas collection systems comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions when systems are out of compliance.
  • Perform general maintenance around the landfill, including clearing debris and maintaining access to wells.
  • Inspect gas flares, compressors, and other equipment for proper operation.
  • Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself and others.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all work complies with safety regulations.
  • Help in maintaining and operating equipment used in landfill gas-to-energy projects, where methane is converted into electricity or other forms of energy.

WORKING CONDITIONS ANDPHYSICALEFFORT:

  • Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
  • Extensivephysicalactivity. Requires strenuousphysicalwork; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards orphysicalrisks, which require following basicsafetyprecautions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company'ssafetystandards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
  • Previous experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Validdriver's licenseandclean driving record.
