Job Description
Role / Title
- Our Research and Development facility located in Glenview, Illinois, is seeking an Electrician Technician to support our team. Strong electrical skills including ability to troubleshoot issues machine shop skills, a working knowledge of process and packaging equipment in a research environment.
- Position require proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and electronic problems using prints and VOM's; and a working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's, variable frequency drives, three phase motor controls, control systems knowledge, in Baldor, LOGO soft, TB Woods, Watlow, and Yokogawa. Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Key Components of the role
- Replace breakers in panel boxes.
- Troubleshooting of PLC equipment contained in machinery and control panels throughout pilot plants. This includes using diagnostic tools such as calibrators, digital signal measurement, and resistance tests of individual component hardware.
- Programming, installing, troubleshooting and sizing of VFD's, Logic and temperature controllers based on input from product developers. Manufactures used include but not limited to ABB, Allen Bradley, Baldor, LOGO soft, Red Lion, TB Woods, Watlow, and Yokogawa.
- Troubleshoot HVAC controls for commercial building.
- Perform electrical ground test annual on pilot plant equipment and repair issues.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least a HS diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 plus years in the field
- Licensed electrician
- NFPA Trained/Certified
- OSHA-30hr Trained/Certified
- Personnel must have working knowledge of the following systems in addition to electrical systems. These include High Pressure Steam, compressed air, and pneumatic systems in the plant and on machinery.
- Some knowledge of pump dynamics such as pumping curves, basic pump designs a plus for troubleshooting.
- Ability to design/build motor control systems to work in a food processing environment and repair and calibrate chart recorders.
- Ability to install 208 & 480 drop lines from electrical panel to equipment being installed.
- Ability to install conduit, wire ways, panels, breakers in accordance with national and local codes.
