As an Advisor Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the financial impacts related to the movement and ownership of customer and company natural gas as it travels through their assigned pipelines and storages from the transmission and storage systems managed by the Company. What You Will Do: Specific Accountabilities * Understand fundamentals of US GAAP, Reporting Standards, and Financial Controls. * Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries related to gas processing, storage and pipeline imbalances, fuel inventory, and fuel over/under recovery based on various FERC tracking mechanisms. * Prepare monthly and quarterly actual / budget / forecast variance analysis on gas processing. * Prepare pipeline and storage trackers. * Prepare and review account reconciliations. * Prepare quarterly and annual FERC Form 3 and Form 2 filings. * Prepare annual EIA-176. * Prepare annual tracker filings. * Coordinate and interact with internal and external auditors on quarterly and year-end audits. * Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements. * Provide guidance or assisting other team members during suppressed reporting deadlines. * Work on ad hoc assignments as assigned. * The Advisor, Gas Accounting interacts extensively with representatives of various departments including Capacity Services, Gas Measurement, and Regulatory Affairs. This interaction is to ensure the representational accuracy of the data for each pipe and storage facility, to analyze variances and anticipate trends - whether favorable or unfavorable - and to ensure the accuracy of the numerous Regulatory filings involved. Required: * Bachelor degree required in Accounting or Finance and limited experience. Preferred:
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
