Job Description

We are looking for our new Global Quality Director who will make the decisions and will lead the overall quality strategy and execution to achieve a zero-defect culture across the sites in USA, Denmark, and China of the Danfoss Turbocor Compressors- the world's first oil-free magnetic bearing compressor for the HVAC industry in our headquarters at Tallahassee, Florida.

This role involves developing and implementing a 5-year quality roadmap, maintaining in parallel the Global Business Management System, including tracking and reporting business KPIs and improvement actions. The position operates within a global matrix organization to drive a strong quality culture, ensuring world-class quality from NPD, Supplier, Manufacturing, and Sales to guarantee customer satisfaction and profitable growth.

Job Responsibilities
Customer Quality:

  • Lead the Customer Quality Group to advocate for the customer and align internal Danfoss Turbocor Compressors (DTC) functions to meet or exceed customer expectations in product, application, and service quality.
  • Manage executive quality relationships with key customer accounts, ensuring clear and timely communication of customer issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply product quality standards, customer specifications, and industry standards, developing testing and evaluation techniques to ensure customer expectations.
  • Provide direction and leadership to a remote team of Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and supporting internal DTC functions to resolve customer line and field quality issues.


Supplier Quality:

  • Lead the Supplier Quality Group to align supplier requirements with customer expectations, ensuring continuous improvement across the supplier base through audits and evaluations.
  • Work actively with procurement and development teams to develop and qualify new suppliers to meet organizational needs and requirements.



Business Management Systems:

  • Ensure systems and processes are properly identified, documented, controlled, and meet all standard requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate risks, helping the leadership team prioritize and adjust to minimize overall business risks.
  • Maintain desired levels of certification and compliance for customer, regulatory, or system standards.



Manufacturing and Quality Assurance:

  • Lead the strategy of the Climate Solutions and Turbocor business unit to across the manufacturing sites worldwide
  • Promote and drive a "Zero Defect" mentality within the quality organization using proactive tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, APQP, SPC, and PFMEA.
  • Manage the internal audit program to verify systems and processes meet standard requirements and are used as intended.

Background & Skills
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Reliability Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in customer services, manufacturing, design, test, and/or reliability.
  • Experience in commercial/industrial quality operations is essential.
  • Experience in mechatronics manufacturing, controls, software, and electronics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing customer satisfaction and feedback data to enhance customer experience.
  • Solid experience in building cross-functional relationships across different organizational levels and in multicultural settings
  • Strong influencing skills to effect actions within the organization.
  • Excellent communication & leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels and navigate through the matrix.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in the industrial compressor market (HVAC), Automobile (IATF16949), or Aerospace industry is highly appreciated
