The University of Texas at Austin is seeking well-qualified, energetic, intellectually curious scholars to join our highly successful faculty in conducting cutting-edge research and teaching diverse, engaged students at one of the leading nursing schools in the nation. Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration abound at this public research university with over 3,500 externally sponsored projects, 150 dedicated research units and centers, and annual research funding exceeding $500 million. The School of Nursing offers BSN, MSN, PhD, and DNP degrees in nursing. Additionally, the School has an alternate entry MSN for persons with baccalaureate degrees outside of nursing, and an accelerated BSN to PhD option.

Qualifications

Assistant Professor Positions

*Preference will be given to applicants with active grant funding or those with promising grant scores.

Successful Candidates are Expected To:

* Develop and/or maintain a research program in nursing/health science.

* Teach and advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.

* Provide service to the school of nursing, the university, the community and the profession.

Required Qualifications:

* Earned doctorate

* Evidence of post-doctoral training

* Strong track record of data-based publications

* Evidence of, or strong potential for an extramurally funded program of research in the areas of oncology, gerontology, health disparities, or health informatic technology.

Strongly Preferred:

* Eligibility for RN licensure in the State of Texas

Associate or Full Professor Positions

Successful Candidates are Expected To:

* Maintain an established research program in nursing/health science.

* Participate in or lead interdisciplinary team of researchers.

* Teach and advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.

* Mentor pre- and post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty.

* Provide service to the school of nursing, the university, the community, and the profession.

Required Qualifications:

* Earned doctorate.

* Ability to meet criteria for appointment as a Professor or Associate Professor with tenure at the University of Texas at Austin.

* Evidence of a sustained, well-developed area of research and scholarship.

* Evidence of an established trajectory of extramurally funded research in the area of oncology, gerontology, health disparities or health informatics technology.

* Experience teaching and advising at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

* Experience advising doctoral students.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Eligibility for RN licensure in the State of Texas.
