Assumes direct administrative and instructional responsibility of the clinical component for the education program in Radiologic Technology in accordance with institutional mission and accreditation standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program in Radiologic Technology. 2. Baccalaureate degree in Education, Radiologic Sciences, or related field. 3. Holds an active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification in Radiography. 4. Holds an active license from the West Virginia, or applicable state, Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners. EXPERIENCE: 1. Two (2) years' experience in the Radiology discipline. 2. Two (2) years' experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited Radiography Program. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Administers the clinical component of the Radiography program to assure accreditation and institutional compliance. 2. Provides leadership and supervision for the clinical instructors and clinical staff. Assures that all academic and professional qualification are met and maintained. 3. Actively participates, as directed, in department operations through proactive involvement and communication with staff and administration. 4. Maintains and develops the clinical aspect of the Radiography program in accordance with the standards set forth by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. 5. Develops and advises on didactic and clinical instruction methodologies and curriculum in an effort to maintain quality and consistency with current technical requirements and practices. 6. Provides didactic instruction in radiography as required by current course offerings, curriculum changes, and professional standards. 7. Maintains and develops a clinical master plan and other documentation which identifies and supports the program's mission. Maintains student records as mandated by federal and state statutes. 8. Actively participates in patient care and imaging procedures in an effort to maintain professional and clinical skills and in support of the section's service initiatives. 9. Utilizes various mechanisms for accurate outcome assessment and programmatic evaluation in an effort to identify and develop new systems for improved efficiency and enhanced delivery of services. 10. Provides input into the development and utilization of the Radiology Education cost center budget with regards to materials and human resource allocation while supporting the organization's current financial initiatives. 11. Develops and implements a clinical assessment plan for evaluation of the Radiography program as mandated by the JRCERT and in reference to established department criteria. 12. Participates in departmental and organizational meetings, task forces, projects, and committees, as directed, in an effort to contribute to the attainment of established goals and objectives. 13. Participates in the development of in-house educational offering utilizing instructional skill and knowledge to enhance delivery and assess need. 14. Actively participates in professional development activities such as periodic attendance at professional society meetings, preparation and delivery of educational lectures, and self-directed academic pursuits.
