The National Security Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Cyber Infrastructure Engineer to support work in our Ridgecrest, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your IA, Cybersecurity, and leadership skills to support the Navy's Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) mission. In this mission we provide engineering support for design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices for the Navy's aircrew Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability. Our organization designs, manufactures, integrates, and provides depot level support for a wide variety of EW threat simulation systems that are part of the training infrastructure that ensures our Navy aircrews are the most effective in the world.

This position will be based in Ridgecrest, California requiring approximately 25% travel. Estimated travel is between one and two weeks at a time approximately 5 times a year to geographically disperse sites associated with the Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR). These training ranges are located primarily located at Cherry Point, NC, Fallon, NV, Yuma, AZ and Pacific Beach, WA.

Primary Responsibilities

This position supports the organization's information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording and destruction. Duties include managing and enforcing of security strategies and policies within established guidelines.

Areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • IT Security Strategy, Cyber Security, and Compliance and Risk Management which includes IT Security and Compliance Teams.
  • Scan systems and servers for vulnerabilities
  • Create vulnerability reports
  • Build and deploying Windows 10 systems
  • Build and deploying Ubuntu systems
  • Apply STIGS to deployed systems
  • Generate IAVM reports
  • Work with Engineers and Software Developers to ensure the proper application of security requirements
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Support engineering design, development, direction, and implementation of Cyber Security and IT solutions.
  • Ensure that all Security Authorization documentation as required by the customer and in accordance with applicable Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages, is up to date.
  • Work closely with range ISSOs to ensure the proper application of all appropriate security measures

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 2 or more years of experience in Cyber Security.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Requires an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) III certification, including: CCNA, CISSP, Security +.
  • Experience with Tenable, Nessus, ACAS, SCAP and other Vulnerability management tools.
  • Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) process, continuous monitoring, POA&Ms, Security Authorizations (SA), NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53 versions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc).
  • Ability to work in a flexible team environment and deliver timely, high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations.
  • Working knowledge of NIST standards, FIPs, and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
