The Statler Hotel at Cornell University announces opportunities for Temporary Bell Persons to join our Front Office Team. The Statler Hotel is a Four-Diamond Award winning property in the center of the beautiful Ithaca campus.

Your role as a Bell Person:

As a member of the Statler Hotel's Front Office Team, you will create warm, genuine, and personalized experiences from the moment guests comeinto contact with our Bell Stand to their departure, while delivering a personalized level of service.

Among your duties, you will:

  • Assist hotel guests during their check-in and check-out. Primary tasks include:
    • Loading and unloading luggage and delivering it to the guest's room
    • Providing information about the facilities within the hotel and giving guests a brief tour of their rooms
    • Share knowledge and useful information about local area attractions, provide general directions and answer all guest questions.
  • Responsible for assisting guests with their vehicles by providing directions to parking, or valet parking their cars for them.
  • Provide guest transportation to and from the airport, while keeping the van well maintained.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by management, including orienting and training student employees, participating in team meetings, and performing special assignments.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate is someone who is high energy and very passionate about providing hospitality and service. This individual takes pride in presenting a professional, well-groomed appearance and is motivated to be a valuable contributor to our team ofprofessional and student staff.
  • A Driver's License is required along with a clean driving record. Candidate must be able to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • The physical demands for this position require a Bell person to:
    • Be in good physical condition, capable of running quickly to obtain/deliver guest cars in a timely manner.
    • Be capable of being on feet for long periods of time.
    • Be able to grasp, bend, stoop and push/pull heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • The position has a varied schedule requiring evening, weekend and/or holiday work hours.
