Summary of Job Duties:This Work-Study position will support the Academic Affairs Retention Office with administrative work, projects, and phone support to provide services to the UA Little Rock community. The office is open from 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday, and the position is located at the 3rd floor SSC Welcome Desk. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or higher;
  • Must have accepted a work-study award for 2024-2025.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Previous office work preferred but not required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone line;
  • Making copies and sending faxes;
  • Assisting students as they come into the office;
  • Research topics and provide short reports of findings;
  • Provide valuable input on life as a student;
  • Secret shop various processes on campus;
  • Data entry in Excel;
  • Deliver documents to other offices on campus;
  • Organize projects;
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may arise as instructed by the manager or supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Work hours between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday (depending on class schedule);
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Friendly, helpful, polite;
  • Strong learning skills: Quick learner with initiative;
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Punctuality;
  • Familiar with Windows 11. (Have some knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher);
  • Willing to share personal student experience;
  • Passionate about being a Trojan student;
  • Willing to have fun and help build a positive learning environment.

Job Location: SSC 3rd floor lobby front desk (Supervisor office SSC 321 A)
