Job Description

As a SkillBridge Recruiting Intern, you will:

A week in the life of a SkillBridge Recruiting Intern includes:

Strategic:



  • Develop recruiting strategies for identifying various technical and professional skill sets.
  • Continually evaluate current and new recruiting sources to provide candidates from diverse backgrounds.


Manager Engagement:



  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers to create and review employment requisitions and develop staffing plans.
  • Update Hiring Managers and the Applicant Tracking System on applicant status throughout the employment process.


Sourcing:



  • Utilize social media recruiting skills to market roles, attract talent, and build online communities.
  • Execute and manage online candidate search campaigns, using various tools (i.e., job boards, social media tools, applicant tracking system, internet-wide searches).


Screening:



  • Screen applicant resumes based on the requisition's requirements.
  • Evaluate employment factors such as job experience, education and training, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Cultivate relationships with key candidates and specific domain talent sets.



Offer and Onboarding:



  • Extend, negotiate, and close offers.
  • Compose offer letters within the Applicant Tracking System with accurate offer details.
  • Provide support to new hire from New Hire Orientation and beyond.


Community Partnerships and Engagement



  • Develop and maintain business partnerships with military transition centers, user groups, associations, and educational institutions.
  • Create and foster relationships with colleagues and diverse professional organizations to attract and recruit critically skilled candidates, alumni, and diversity applicants.
  • Help organize and attend career fairs, invitational, open house events, as required.


Job Requirements:




  • REQUIRED: Candidates must be eligible to participate in a SkillBridge program. If you are unsure if you are eligible, please visit the SkillBridge website or speak with your Unit Commander or Transition Coordinator.
  • Must have 180 days of military service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and have at least 180 continuous days of active military service (as defined by the DOD SkillBridge eligibility requirements)
  • Must have approval from your unit commander to participate in a SkillBridge program (as defined by the DOD SkillBridge eligibility requirements)


  • Bachelor's Degree with 0 - 2 years of experience

    • Will consider additional experience in lieu of education requirements


  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Willing to speak up and ask questions when needing guidance.
  • Desire to grow and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resourceful problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable learning technology and search methodology to locate candidates.
  • Understanding of social networking and developing resources to further our search capabilities.
  • Willingness to try new things, accept mistakes, learn from them, and improve.
