Summary

The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting compensation administration and implementation for the organization's various compensation programs, helping to translate strategy into results. This includes (but not limited to) areas related to compensation, including position descriptions and evaluations, FLSA determination, base and variable pay administration, survey participation, annual merit, and bonus programs, and conducting various compensation analyses and studies. This position supports divisions: A&S, Road, 4PL (Lead Logistics), IMS

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Analyze, develop, and maintain compensation programs to meet company objectives
  • Participate or lead special projects (e.g. pay structure development, job descriptions, AAPs)
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position; review annually and recommend percent adjustment as applicable
  • Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; use spreadsheets and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents through interviews with managers, Talent Acquisition team and HR Business Partners
  • Evaluate job positions, determining FLSA classification of either exempt or non-exempt status and assign wage range
  • Assist Talent Acquisition team and HR Business Partners on new hire offers, transfers, and promotions as requested
  • Lead the administration of annual merit compensation process by compiling employee eligibility, position, salary, and other information, providing managers with individual spreadsheets, consolidating returned sheets, preparing EC mass upload template, and coordinating with Payroll for accuracy and processing
  • Provide cost analysis leading up to and during the annual merit increase process as requested
  • Complete annual EEO reports
  • Lead annual OFCCP Affirmative Action Plan data collection and preparation in partnership with DSV outside counsel and HR Director and assist with associated analysis and actions to be taken
  • Administer annual, quarterly and monthly bonus programs for both managers and operations staff (currently only A&S and some Group)
  • Ensure compliance with equal pay laws, acts or statutes
  • Administer monthly service anniversary award program (currently only A&S)
  • Assist with compensation and equity related communications
  • Participate in compensation surveys and perform associated analysis
  • Study market trends to assist in developing effective compensation programs
  • Conduct internal research and analysis to assess compensation programs, and procedures across multi-state locations within the freight forwarding industry
  • Assist with annual compensation analysis, using internal and external tools, to ensure pay equity and market competitiveness
  • Ensures compensation programs and policies comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Annually review to ensure current salaries do not fall below minimum wage
  • Annually review to ensure exempt status positions still comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned



Educational Background / Work Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • 3 years' experience in compensation administration (5+ years preferred)
  • Good understanding of job evaluations and compensation analysis
  • Proficient with compensation research and data analysis
  • Must have strong and proven analytical skills, and be detail-oriented, accurate in maintaining records and electronic filing systems

For this position, the expected base pay is: $94,500 - $125,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
