Description

This is a multi-position announcement for eligible scholars and practitioners to fill several, part-time, graduate online teaching positions in science, business, and social science/psychology (see course topics in "Additional Comments").

The primary function of this position is to lead and teach existing, partially developed, online, graduate sustainability courses. Successful candidates must meet three expectations:



  1. Master Prior Course Content: Adjuncts will review, learn and utilize all existing, published course course content and reading materials. Approximately 90 percent of the course content may be provided by the Institute.
  2. Create and Customize New Course Content for Student Engagement: Adjuncts will develop and record unique course introductions, instructional aids, notices, reminders, and optional live sessions. Adjuncts will create approximately 10 percent of the course content.
  3. Instruct and Mentor Students: Adjuncts will focus most of their teaching time on creative engagement, mentoring, clarifying content, and providing high-quality and timely feedback to online students. The adjunct will offer two formats: 100 percent asynchronous experiences and optional, synchronous (live) experiences within the same course.


Education:

For Science or Technology Courses: Master of Science or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline
For Business Courses: MBA or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline
Social Science, Conflict Mgt. or Other Courses: MA or Ph.D.

Experience:

Professional experience in sustainability related fields, with teaching, presentation, or training experience, is required.
Experience in online teaching and learning, higher education, high performance private sector professions, sustainability research, field work, consulting, and organizational or business management are preferred.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a minimum of a masters degree with results based experience or a terminal degree relevant to the course discipline and work or research in sustainability. Candidates should also be self-motivated, reliable and responsible as well as possessing strong written, verbal, graphic, and video communication skills.

This is a multi-position announcement for several, part-time, graduate online teaching positions. The Institute for Sustainable Practice seeks experienced scholars and leading practitioners to teach 2 individual graduate courses each in one of the following topic areas. Each course will be offered 1-2 times per year in each of one of the following specific topics. Preference will be given to those with certification, training, education, and research in these areas: (a) Earth systems; (b) biomimicry design; green business principles and management, (d) green business financial and resource metrics; (d) green building design, certification, management, and operation; (e) renewable energy technology and applications; (f) food system production, processing, and retail (g) human system social science, environmental psychology, and behavior management; and (h) project management.
