Job Summary

For over 100 years, the Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN) has had a reputation for innovation and excellence. As the only professional college at Illinois State University, we offer traditional and online programs, including prelicensure, RN to BSN, and accelerated Baccalaureate degrees, a Ph.D. in nursing science and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. As a leader in research on aging/vulnerable populations, heart failure, and nursing education science, MCN is an excellent environment for candidates to share their clinical and teaching expertise.

In anticipation of possible openings in the Mennonite College of Nursing at our new Springfield location throughout the academic year and summer sessions, a pool of qualified persons interested in non-tenure-track teaching positions is maintained. Applications are accepted continuously for non-tenure-track positions and reviewed as vacancies become available.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.


Required Qualifications

1. Masters of Science in Nursing completed by the start date of the appointment.
2. Passion for teaching undergraduate students in the clinical, laboratory and classroom setting.
3. Must have licensure in Illinois by the start date of the appointment.
4. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.


Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience in a clinical, laboratory and/or classroom setting
Preferred experience in Psych mental health, acute care, critical care, pediatrics and public health

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
1. Ability to effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Ability to conduct or attend meetings in various locations across campus.
3. Provide clinical patient care alongside nursing students (if assigned a clinical course)
