Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Clearance: Public Trust

Integral Federal is seeking a Database Engineer to join us in support of the FCC Enterprise Engineering and Architecture Services (EE&AS) Program to help contribute to our success. As a Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data and database infrastructure in the cloud while also supporting the migration of data and databases from on-premise to the cloud. Your expertise in Sybase, Oracle, RDS, SQL, and Aurora will be essential in exceeding the expectations of the position and customer. Help us solve problems with innovation through Intelligence.



Responsibilities

    Support the migration of Sybase and Oracle databases to RDS, SQL, and Aurora.
  • Use of AWS DMS, SSMA, and Azure ADF to migrate databases to the cloud.
  • Creation of data replication pipelines and flows.
  • Migration of Proxy tables.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design optimal data models and architectures for data/database migrations.
  • Troubleshoot data and/or database migration/replication issues.
  • Provide Tier IV SME support for the O&M DBA team.
  • Manage large data and database migration projects inception to completion.
  • Create and optimize data pipelines from scratch, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high-performance processing.
  • Perform data cleansing, data integration, and data quality assurance activities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of large datasets.
  • Leverage big data technologies to efficiently process and analyze large datasets, particularly those encountered in a federal agency. Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Maintain documentation for software applications, workflows, and processes.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in data engineering and recommend suitable tools and technologies for continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with demonstrated experience managing and migrating large data and databases to modern databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with Sybase administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud database solutions and technologies along with advanced knowledge and experience with migrating to cloud database platforms.
  • High level proficiency with Sybase, Oracle, RDS, SQL, and Aurora database platforms.
  • High level proficiency with database migration tools - DMS, SSMA, ADF.
  • High level of proficiency in ETL processes and demonstrated, hands-on experience with technologies such as Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to solve complex data-related issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and leveraging big data technologies to process and analyze data efficiently.
  • Understanding of data modeling/visualization, database design principles, and data governance practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Preferred:

  • Current Public Trust Clearance

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Integral Federal considers factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
