Job Summary |
Elmhurst University invites applicants to join our Adjunct Pool in the School of Business to teach Financial & Managerial Accounting .
Course Description: This course provides an in-depth exposure to the principles of financial and managerial accounting and the preparation, interpretation and analysis of general purpose financial statements for parties external to the organization. Topics such as cost behavior, activity-based costing, pricing, break-even and decision analysis, and budgeting and control are also covered. Emphasis is on the analysis and interpretation of accounting information and how financial statements interrelate, rather than on the preparation of different statements.

Essential Functions |
- Teach theories of investment decisions, risk and return and personal investment.
- Flexibility relative to teaching schedule.
- Be available for meetings with marketing and management professors a few times during the semester.
- Grade, manage and set up assignments using the Blackboard learning management system.

Minimum Qualifications |
MBA or higher degree.- Some college teaching experience.
- Familiarity with Blackboard or similar Learning Management System.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous experience as a working professional in accounting.
- Solid background in accounting practices.
- PhD in accounting and/or 10+ years in a supervisory accounting role.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements |
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
