Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, an Alaskan Native Company, is committed to supporting the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in their environmental and cultural resource management initiatives. We currently have an opening for a part time Senior Researcher. This position is eligible for remote work with occasional travel, estimated to be two-three trips per quarter, each lasting three-four business days. When travelling the hours worked will exceed the 20 hours a week.

Our collaboration with the BIA involves a wide array of projects focusing on environmental assessments and compliance, deeply impacting tribal lands and communities across the United States. These critical roles are instrumental in driving forward the mission of the BIA, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and fostering sustainable development. Join us in this meaningful endeavor where your expertise will contribute significantly to the stewardship of natural and cultural resources in alignment with tribal and federal objectives.



  • Tribal experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or environmental engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing and environmental compliance.
  • Expert knowledge of NEPA documentation and procedures.


Duties:



  • Perform in-depth research to verify land coordinates and legal status, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate environmental and cultural resource aspects relevant to project proposals, providing detailed findings.
  • Research and ensure adherence to various Federal laws and regulations, particularly those related to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Assist the Primary Reviewer in specific research areas, providing expertise and support as needed.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
