The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Department of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (NUFSM) seek to recruit full-time pediatric emergency medicine faculty to the Division of Emergency Medicine.

Located on the NUFSM campus in the heart of downtown Chicago, a few blocks from Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile, this state-of-the-art, freestanding children's hospital includes a 35-bed Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center emergency department (ED). The Division also staffs a community hospital pediatric ED.

The Division currently has 38 pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) faculty, 7 emergency pediatrician faculty, and 16 pediatric advanced practice providers. Lurie Children's is home to one of the longest-standing PEM fellowship programs in the nation with 3 fellows per year. In addition to providing direct emergency care, faculty participate in the supervision and training of medical students, paramedic and physician assistant students, advanced practice nurses, residents (pediatrics, emergency medicine, and family medicine), and PEM fellows. The Division has established cutting edge telemedicine, robust quality improvement, and innovative medical education simulation programs.

Our Division's diverse academic include rigorous research and quality improvement, patient safety, local and national advocacy, disaster management, medical education, ultrasonography, and telehealth expertise. We are a well-established site within national research collaboratives. Our faculty lead both site-directed and multicenter research in a multitude of areas including injury epidemiology and prevention, child maltreatment, sepsis, medical simulation, large dataset analysis, translational research, behavioral health, prospective clinical trials, and health equity. In addition to holding federal and other competitive grants, the Division has received a substantial philanthropic gift from the Grainger Foundation supporting faculty development and research initiatives. Extensive mentoring and collaborative opportunities for faculty are readily available within the Division and beyond at NUFSM.

We are seeking qualified candidates for emergency pediatrician positions in the non-tenure eligible Clinician-Educator track at the ranks of Assistant Professor and/or Associate Professor.
