Description
Ellison 14 is a 7-bed multispecialty intensive care unit with planned expansion to 10 beds within the year, creating the opportunity for professional growth and team-expansion! Our primary patient population is complex surgical, primarily burns, and acute medicine overflow. Our multispecialty care model, in-line with other ICUs at MGB, is presently based on responding clinicians (APPs and residents) supervised by attending ICU staff and supported by critical care fellows. We are the primary ICU care providers for our patients, supported by primary admitting surgical teams and consultant. We emphasize and expect responsible, collaborative decision-making from our APPs, within their full scope of practice. We encourage procedural excellence and supervised practice. APPs will be oriented to cross-function across several ICUs run by MGH Anesthesia and MGH Acute Care Surgery. The job requires a regular, equitably distributed quota of day, nights, and weekend shifts. We encourage new and experienced candidates interested in a full-time position!
