Position Summary
Facilities Management has a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Automotive Supervisor. This position will coordinate the work flow of the Automotive shop insuring the best service and the best price to our UNM customers. Will maintain oversite of parts room inventory and shop supplies. Will serve as safety contact to insure safety of all employees and customers.

Conditions of Employment
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is a requirement for this job.
  • Possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be a requirement for this job.
  • As a CDL driver, the employee will be required to comply with all provisions of DOT Regulation 49 CFR Parts 40 and 382, including random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must maintain certification status.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: Certification as an Automotive Mechanic or equivalent.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years' experience managing a shop or similar facility.
  • Past employee management and employee development
  • Experience with budgeting and purchasing utilizing Government contracts
  • Customer service experience
