Position Summary The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center seeks a
faculty member to join the
Division of Cardiology.
This position is Open rank and Open track. The successful candidate will
provide excellent patient care and, as a member of New Mexico's only academic
medical center, will actively participate in research and fellow education. Salary and rank will be commensurate with
experience and education.

The north-central New Mexico/Albuquerque area is a unique
and stunning place in which to live with a diversity of climate, geography, and
culture that defies easy description.
The city itself sits at the base of the Sandia Mountains along the Rio
Grande Valley just south of Santa Fe.
The central New Mexico weather is nearly ideal with plentiful sun, and moderate
temperatures and there is easy access to varying landscapes and climates both
within the State and in close neighboring States. Four seasons of outdoor recreational
opportunities are abundant. We invite

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board certified/board eligible in Cardiovascular
    Disease by date of hire
  • Board certification/board eligible in
    Echocardiography
  • Eligible to work in US
  • Level 2 certification in cardiac MRI and cardiac
    CT

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership skills in coordinating in-patient and
    out-patient care
  • Experience/interest with broad spectrum of
    cardiovascular disease
  • Training and/or experience in diagnosis and
    management of advanced heart failure and advanced heart failure therapies
  • Teaching experience at all levels of training
  • Experience/interest in scholarly pursuits and
    mentorship of trainees within the field of cardiology
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,
    and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
