Position Summary

UNM
Neurology
seeks two
Neurologist positions to join our Neurology/Neuro
Critical Care team
. The
positions will be part of a team of faculty providing quality patient care in
the inpatient and outpatient setting at UNM Hospital. Clinical responsibilities include
coverage/call on Neurology ICU and inpatient services. Academic responsibilities include
participation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Research responsibilities include
participating in grants and clinical trials in the department.

UNM
Hospital is the tertiary care center for the State and the only Comprehensive
Stroke Center, NAEC level 4 epilepsy center, and ALS / MDA center in the State. The UNM Neurology Department has 45 full-time and part-time attending
physicians and is home to well-established Residency and multiple Fellowship
programs.

About Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque,
NM is a beautiful city with Sandia Mountains to the east and mesa to the west. At more than a mile-high elevation, this high
desert environment provides beautiful sunny days but also the variety of all
four seasons. It is ideal for outdoor
activities and sports all year-round including running, hiking, biking and
skiing. Albuquerque is 1 hour from Santa
Fe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for their art and
culture. The State of New Mexico is
multicultural and diverse with 19 indigenous native pueblos, Navajo reservation
and three Apache tribal lands. We have
excellent local cuisine, breathtaking sunsets, numerous cultural and historic
sites, lakes, rivers, deserts, and mountains.

Salary: salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience


Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • MD degree or equivalent
  • Board eligible or certified in Neurology.
  • Board eligible or certified in neurocritical care or established neurocritical fellowship training, completed by start date.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred
Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of clinical experience in neurological care.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
