Responsibilities:




  • Conduct CT Scans: As a CT Scan Technician, your primary responsibility will be operating the CT scanner to capture detailed images of patients' bodies. You'll follow protocols and positioning techniques to ensure accurate and high-quality scans.



  • Patient Care and Communication: Put your empathetic side to work by providing compassionate care to patients throughout the scanning process. Explain procedures, answer questions, and alleviate any fears or concerns they may have. Your friendly demeanor and ability to connect with people will make their experience as comfortable as possible.



  • Collaboration with the Medical Team: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results. Collaborate on patient assessments, discuss findings, and contribute your technical expertise to help determine the best course of action for each individual.



  • Equipment Maintenance and Quality Control: Keep the CT scanner in optimal condition by performing routine maintenance tasks and ensuring it meets safety standards. Participate in quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the equipment and images produced.



  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and organized records of patient information, scan results, and any other relevant data. Follow established protocols for documentation and reporting, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.




Qualifications:




  • Technical Skills: Have a solid understanding of CT scanning principles, techniques, and equipment operation.



  • Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology: Demonstrate a good grasp of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. This understanding will aid in accurate positioning and assessment of scan results.



  • Attention to Detail: Possess a keen eye for detail to accurately capture images and detect any abnormalities or artifacts. Strong observational skills are crucial for a successful CT Scan Technician.



  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excel in verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills. The ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically, and to collaborate effectively with a diverse medical team, is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Description



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.



Experience:



2 years of clinical diagnostic radiographic experience preferred.



License(s):



American Registry of Radiological Technologists ARRT(R) upon hire. AART (CT) Registry must be acquired within 12 months upon hire. State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.



Certification(s):



AHA BLS within 60 days upon hire.



Computer / Typing:



Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
