Job Summary:
Physicians with the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a progressive outpatient setting. They are also provided the opportunity to grow the next generation of physicians through hands-on instruction of residents, fellows, and medical students. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive patient care in the outpatient setting. Duties may include clinical teaching of medical students residents, and fellows, as well as administrative duties. Individuals may also be called upon to fill clinical needs at UW Health Urgent Care Centers. The preferred candidate will either have experience teaching and working with a diverse population or will welcome a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population. Education: Required Qualifications: Exceptional attention to detail; ability to balance multiple, often competing priorities; ability to collaborate on a multidisciplinary team; commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment; excellent communication skills with an emphasis on patient empathy; previous EHR experience (EPIC preferred but not required) License/Certification: Required Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Expectation is to Board Certified within the first two years of appointment. Must be eligible for a Wisconsin medical license.
