Principal Accountabilities



  • Plans and coordinates all aircraft maintenance activities; inspections (special, conditional, phase, etc.)
  • Dispatch and monitoring of assigned tasks and associated jobs to work centers.
  • Always keeps Maintenance Director briefed on Aircraft status.
  • Manages work assignments to ensure aircraft availability in support of Flight Schedule requirements
  • Able to monitor the NALCOMIS/OOMA system to report all work performed and current work status
  • Prepares daily Aircraft Maintenance Status Readiness Report (AMSRR) reports in support of aircraft long range maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes outstanding maintenance actions.
  • Comply with all current sections of the NAVAIRINST 3710.1(series) and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series, as applicable to aircraft maintenance.
  • Maintains aircraft historical records, as well as various other aircraft files in support of aircraft maintenance.
  • Responsible for mission configurations, able to work and coordinate with various civil service work centers for up / download support and systems checks, as required.
  • Ensures and coordinates work centers' written pass down logbooks, between shifts.
  • Verification of all Maintenance Action Documentation prior to submission to the Navy, working closely with Logs and Records to ensure timely submission into 3M data systems and required logbook entries.
  • Ensures work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all safety rules and regulations are observed. May work with other groups or personnel to resolve problems, as required.
  • Instruct and assist in training of subordinate employees in proper work methods and performance of their job duties.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, including but not limited to, any and all duties of lower rated technical personnel within their classification.
  • Assist other shops/skills as required. May reassign contract personnel between work centers as needed to support the daily flight schedule requirements.
  • Tasks personnel, as needed, in transporting pilots to the CALA and other hangars when Govt. personnel are not available.


Knowledge & Skills



  • Knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures
  • Knowledgeable of technical directives and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series
  • Possess working knowledge of applicable aircraft AV-8



Experience & Education



  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline is highly preferred, or High School graduate or equivalent with USN/USMC aircraft maintenance management experience.


  • Possess an extensive background in the field of aircraft maintenance and material support with a minimum of 15 years of experience. Ten (10) years of the last 15 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification.
  • Must have six (6) of the last ten (10) years' experience in aircraft maintenance, which shall be in a supervisory position that included the responsibility of assigning priorities and workloads.
  • Must have experience supervising daily flight operations personnel supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Experience in writing with clarity and technical accuracy.


Physical Requirements & Working Environment



  • Possess valid U.S. driver license.
  • Able to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret Clearance; active clearance preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Compensation & Benefits HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
