JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Quality Manager (QM) to join our Braking manufacturing facility in Smithville, TN. The QM will manage the Quality department in Smithville as well as well as partner with other QA departments in the geographical area to ensure alignment.This position will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be a valued member of the leadership team where we strive to promote from within wherever possible; therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop and implement a statistically based overall plant program of auditing and process control procedures, within Corporate and Group guidelines and ensure plant alignment to assure that all products, processes and quality related systems meet requirements.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of the Smithville Quality Assurance Department, including establishing and operating within department budget.
  • Interact with customers concerning plant quality certifications, complaints, corrective action, and provide appropriate follow-up closure.
  • Implement procedures for inspection of incoming raw materials and components, and review quality problems with vendors. Provide suppliers surveillance assistance as required.
  • Maintain a system to control, review, and make disposition of rejected products and raw materials.
  • Analyze plant quality costs and causes for rejects. Recommend corrective action and follow-up on quality improvement programs.
  • Determine the plants potential to comply with new specifications and changes to existing specifications prior to production and approve all ECAP's for new rebuilt equipment.
  • Maintain a system for calibrating all key inspection, gaging, and process instruments. Approve purchase and repair of inspection and gaging equipment.
  • New Part Introduction: APQP for new programs.
  • Work with vendors to improve inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to determine and assure that manufacturing process are statistically capable of meeting requirements.
  • Initiate and retain necessary quality records, from incoming materials through final audit, in accordance with corporate and group policy.
  • Identify quality related training needs and direct training activities through appropriate channels.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's degree in QMS, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.



EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum of 5+ years of quality experience in manufacturing and or automotive environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in IATF 16949 technical and customer specific requirements are required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and statistics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
