Position: Commercial Banker IV - Houston | Division: Commercial Banking

Work Days: Monday - Friday| Hours of Operation: 8:00am- 5:00pm

Purpose of the Position:

Assumes responsibility for
independently developing a portfolio of banking relationships with Houston based
companies; these companies are primarily engaged in the manufacturing,
distribution, and professional service industries. Targeted clients will have revenues ranging
from $5MM - $250MM. Primary loan types
include working capital lines of credit, term loans, owner occupied real estate
loans, equipment loans, and ancillary loans with key principals of the
business. Depository & Treasury
relationships will be developed as well to ensure a full banking relationship. The ideal candidate will possess a well
established presence in market, strong credit/underwriting expertise and maintain
a consistent calling effort. The banker
will make presentations to the Senior Officers' Loan Committee and Directors'
Loan Review Committee concerning the creditworthiness of the loan
applications.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and services new commercial loans, many of which are complex in nature, by:
  • Actively participating in business development
    endeavors with potential and existing
    customers to develop new business and increase or retain existing business.
  • Interviewing applicants to develop financial and
    credit information to ascertain needs, abilities, earnings, and bank risk. Requesting and collecting necessary
    information needed to provide a complete financial package to underwriting
    partners.
  • Ensuring the complete
    development and analysis of all financial data and monitoring accounts.
  • Evaluating credit and terms in accordance with policy.
  • Preparing and
    presenting/recommending to committees for lending approval.
  • Assuming responsibility for proper documentation and review of
    accounts.
  • Inspecting properties under
    construction & approving draw requests.
  • Reviewing borrowing base
    reports and other periodic financial reporting.
  • Taking ownership of the customer experience
    consistent with the banks mission vision and
    values.
  • Monitors loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and to be aware
    of any developing trends.
  • Monitors loans to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Keeps abreast of changing
    business and economic developments which impact upon the general loan portfolio
    and its profitability.
  • Represents Bank through
    community and professional involvement.
  • Assumes added duties and
    responsibilities as requested.


Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with bank core systems.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years Commercial Banking experience
  • Demonstrated credit analysis/underwriting experience on complex loan transactions
  • Formal Sales Training preferred
  • Formal Credit Training preferred

Education Requirements:

  • College degree from an accredited institution
  • MBA: or degree focused on
    finance, real estate or accounting preferred

Other

  • Meet and maintain financial responsibility, character and general fitness standards along with all other
    established requirements for an individual Loan Originator (LO) in accordance with Regulation Z.
