Job Description

The Director of Cyber Security is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's information security program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. This role involves leading a team of cybersecurity professionals, developing security policies and procedures, and implementing measures to protect against cyber threats. The Director of Cyber Security will work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with security standards and mitigate risks. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day security information operations in the North American region under the direction of the CISO and working closely with Regional CIOs. This position will also support the CISO with implementing and running APM Group's information security program and have responsibility for North American Cyber controls, and associated strategy where different to group.

Manage regional cyber functions

  • Lead the NA cyber security team to promote an effective and collaborative work environment between the team and stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver the regional cyber (uplift) roadmap, tracking benefits
  • Deliver the annual cyber assurance program
  • Engagement with regional lines of business
  • Regular reporting to Chief Information Security Officer

Cyber security advisory

  • Advising regional lines of business, legal, development teams and IT on security requirements commensurate with APM's policies, procedures, and threat and risk environment

Cyber risk management

  • Manage regional cyber security policies and standards
  • Risk assessments and risk register activities
  • Treatment actions and planning
  • Exception management
  • Security awareness and training
  • Third party risk management

Cyber compliance oversight and monitoring

  • Ongoing monitoring of APM's compliance with our regional legal, regulatory and IT security requirements through audits and project delivery gates
  • Develop automation and continuous monitoring capabilities of security controls
  • Enhance security testing capabilities of the region

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in industry forums/committees
  • Complete annual professional development plan
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior cybersecurity role, with a track record of managing security programs and teams.
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role or equivalent environment
  • Solid domain experience from an Information Security standpoint
  • Strong, self-motivated, outcome-driven and productive work ethic
  • Participant in state, national and international cyber security bodies, and networks
  • Standard cyber recognitions such as CISA/M, CISSP, SABSA or equivalent
  • Highly developed leadership, communication, organisational, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Excellent Risk Management experience
  • Cloud security experience preferred

Salary Range: $130k-$160k
