Job Objective:
The Compliance Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the compliance reporting department, support the team in key reporting activities and functions related to state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Formulate regulatory strategy and lead engagement with stakeholders, agencies, and management.
- Responsible for organizing and leading meetings to resolve compliance reporting issues and audit findings.
- Serve as the liaison for the various agencies, including ONRR and Wyoming and present updates as needed.
- Develop and maintain a constructive working relationships with the agencies through regular update meetings and responses to inquiries.
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory statues, changes to regulations, and provide interpretation guidance to team and management as needed.
- Reviews state and federal royalties and taxes filings/payment requests, including amendments when deemed necessary, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Reviews of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Participates and represent the compliance reporting function to other departments (i.e. land, financial reporting, audits, etc.).
- Assists in the development and implementation of reporting tools, report preparation, and related control processes.
- Develops and maintain documentation of business processes and internal controls.
- Performs special projects that require knowledge of state and federal reporting as needed.

Qualifications:
- Eight (8) years minimum of industry experience AND Five (5) years minimum of direct supervisory experience.
- Ability to solve problems accurately and exhibit exceptional proficiency in data management, and understanding of tribal, state, and federal royalties and taxes reporting standards/requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, other departments, external regulators, and the public.
- Ability to prioritize and assign work based on priorities.
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
- Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Preferred: SAP
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in accounting.
