Job Overview:

We're seeking a professional who will serve as the vital link between our cutting-edge technology and our client's needs. As a the Applications Engineer, you'll play a critical and pivotal role in operating as an integral part in Sales Support to the Sales Team and supporting the selling efforts of the direct sales force.

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Product Management
, you'll be at the forefront of our mission, tasked with sizing, selecting, and configuring top-of-the-line Ingersoll Rand products and solutions to precisely match our customers' unique specifications and expectations. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating with Engineering to ensure flawless execution, particularly in high-stakes OEM, EPC, and major project opportunities.

A successful candidate will strive to "Make Life Better" for our customers to significantly grow our business as well as the discipline and brilliance to effectively service our distributors and internal Sales team.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee project documentation, including testing and modifying the products in all stages of the process.

  • Support size/selection/configuration and solutions to satisfy direct customers/distributors/ sales team.

  • Develop competitive project proposals for OEMs and with the cross functional team (Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain etc.)

  • Develop drawings/models consistent for customer/application requirements, guidelines, and standards. Verify drawings for clarity, completeness, and conformity to standards.

  • Recommend appropriate product or design solutions for all products.

  • Consult with design engineers regarding approvals by product line.

  • Finalize design and create prints for production as guided with Engineering.

  • Support Sales with CAD, 3D drawings and BOM creation with supporting item master add.

  • Perform non-production project test requirements.

  • Collaborate with Outside Sales Team regarding issue resolution and order support.

  • Support quote process and understand pricing and margin expectations.

  • Actively send feedback to Product Management
    MLB strategy


  • Support activities related to SQDIP expectations with Safety as a top Ingersoll Rand expectation.




Requirements:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, with at least 2 years relevant work experience. Mechanical Engineering preferred. Experience working in a Manufacturing
    environment preferred.


  • Intermediate/Advanced SolidWorks skill and ability

  • Intermediate computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office required.

  • Ability to demonstrate advanced SAP mainframe skill set.

  • Knowledge with design, engineering applications, product development, and contract agreements

  • Team oriented and customer focused.

  • Ability to demonstrate technical and product knowledge orientation with multiple product lines.

  • Solid organizational and priority management skills

  • Technical, administrative, and critical thinking capabilities

  • Competitive market and innovative solution understanding




Key Competencies:


  • Positive displacement pump experience and knowledge (highly preferred)

  • Support in a technical manner, coupled with experience in CAD, 3D drawings

  • Experience pricing / bidding on high specification projects

  • Sizing and recommending products experience




Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:


  • This is an onsite position, located in our Alsip, IL manufacturing
    facility, with occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required





The pay range for this role is $90,000-110,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
