Position Summary
This is a POOL position. Application materials for this adjunct position accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand for courses in this subject area.

The Workforce and Economic Development Division ( WED) of Metropolitan Community College is the leader in innovative workforce solutions and community enrichment. We partner to first develop our community in order to develop it economically for the growth of the Kansas City metro's citizens; families, businesses, industry, organizations, and associations.

Part-time instructor for Industrial Electrical and General Electrical programs. This part-time position is responsible for developing and delivering training in Electrical and related subjects in a dynamic environment. The training will take place in both a classroom and lab environment and at times at a client work site.


Minimal Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, business management, education or closely-related field plus two (2) years full-time experience in Electrical or related field,


OR
  • Associate's degree in a technical or closely-related field plus four (4) years full-time experience in electrical or related field,
OR
  • High School Diploma/GED plus six (6) years full-time experience in electrical or related field.
Skills and knowledge required:

  • Provide training in one or more in the areas of Basic Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Troubleshooting, Motor Controls, PLC (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens) and related subjects.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate training programs to include training materials such as manuals, power point presentations, lab instructions, etc.
  • Prepare revision or customization of existing instructional materials for delivery.
  • Maintain acceptable client/student evaluations for workshop/course delivery.
  • Manage quality of work assignments within the time-frame established by business contracts.
  • Prior experience in training others preferred.
