Medical Laboratory Scientist II

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of MLS I to MLS III.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry and current Medical Laboratory Scientist certification. (Certification tracked by department.)

EXPERIENCE:

Meets requirements of MLS I. Expanded knowledge of laboratory tests. Candidate will be hired in as an MLS I or MLS II based on experience. Salary in posting reflects pay of MLS II position.

SCHEDULE NOTE: Shift will be from 3:30 pm - 12:00 am. This position also has 3 weekend shifts per month.

External candidates are eligible for up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus for new grads, up to $5,000 for individuals with more than three years of experience. Current employees of the UVM Medical Center and partners are not eligible for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.

We are offering a relocation package of up to $9,200 for eligible candidates relocating more than 50 miles. Additional terms and conditions apply.
