Founded in 1966 as Rutgers Medical School, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is located on the New Brunswick/Piscataway campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. As one of the nation's leading comprehensive medical schools, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education, research, health care delivery, and the promotion of community health. In cooperation with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the medical school's principal affiliate, they comprise New Jersey's premier academic medical center. In addition, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has 34 other hospital affiliates and ambulatory care sites throughout the region.
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School encompasses 20 basic science and clinical departments, and hosts centers and institutes including The Cardiovascular Institute, the Child Health Institute of New Jersey, the Institute for Neurological Therapeutics, and the Women's Health Institute. The medical school maintains educational programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels for more than 1,500 students on its campuses in New Brunswick and Piscataway, and provides continuing education courses for healthcare professionals and community education programs.

The Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, faculty position in medical education. The successful candidate will contribute to the educational mission of the school's medical and graduate courses in gross anatomy and histology through teaching and directorship.
Teaching activities include lectures and small group activities such as labs and TBL. There are numerous, exciting opportunities for scholarly and educational development and collaboration with core educators and clinicians as the school develops its new curriculum and transitions to a new state-of-the-art medical education building in 2026.
Qualified candidates must have experience teaching Anatomy within a medical or health-professional school, and have evidence of excellence and productivity related to directing an Anatomy course. Knowledge and experience in gross anatomy as well as dissection are a must and an additional willingness to learn and teach in Histology and Embryology is required.Candidates must have a Doctoral degree (MD or PhD). This appointment will be made at an academic rank commensurate with experience. Applications will be accepted until April 1, 2024, or until the position is filled.
