Minimum Education and Experience |
Minimal education requires PhD and clinical experience, preferably in the field of developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Clinical degree and
ADOS certification ideal but not required. |

The successful applicant would be expected to take a substantial role in a clinical trial acquiring data remotely, curating it and analyzing it under close mentoring from participating physicians, research scientists and the lab's PI. In addition, the successful applicant will participate in relevant conferences to develop a strong networking capacity and benefit from interactions with the medical and brain research community on campus. |

Overview |
The one-year funded position (with the possibility of extending it to two years) will prepare the scientist for a career in translational science with a focus on personalized medicine. Training on the design of biometrics and biomarkers is combined with curricular activities involving remote data acquisition, app development/use and networking in clinical settings. The Postdoctoral Associate will be able to interact with other researchers in the rich environment of the Rutgers University Center for Cognitive Science, the Psychology Department and the Center for Biomedicine Imaging and Modeling of the Computer Science Department. The successful applicant will have access to advanced computing facilities including the Rutgers
AMAREL cluster and state-of-the-art motion captions systems at the
SMIL. Training opportunities to develop new skills in data science with a focus on translational medicine applied to contemporary open research problems in autism are also available. This research program is individually tailored to achieve specific goals considering the associate's prior background and interests in future career path. The Postdoctoral Associate will have an opportunity to learn cutting edge methodology for behavioral and cognitive neuroscience within the realm of embodied cognition and translational science in psychiatry and neurology.
