The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks a dynamic career oriented physician to join the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. Candidates who have successfully completed a fellowship and are board certified/board eligible in Allergy and Immunology will be considered. The physician will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient clinical care as well as teaching in the undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs at the institution. The physician would also be expected to engage in scholarly and outreach activities. The physician would join four full time faculty members in the division who provide 24/7 coverage for the inpatient consultation service in infectious diseases, as well as provide ID consultation services in the ambulatory practice.

The Department of Pediatrics is composed of 115 full-time and more than 200 volunteer faculty members, organized into 18 divisions covering all of the pediatric subspecialties in conjunction with four key surgical services. The department is undergoing a renaissance following the integration of the medical school with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and the recent merger of two major health systems to form RWJ Barnabas. The department has already recruited 43 new faculty members with plans for hiring additional faculty, allowing us to expand our research and clinical programs and provide improved care to our patients. Our educational mission is focused on the development of the next generation of multi-talented physicians who will become leaders in education, research and patient care. Our ACGME-accredited training programs continue to thrive and expand. We have an outstanding pediatric residency and fellowship training programs.

The inpatient clinical services are provided at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ a five-time Magnet recipient recognized as "One of America's Best Children's Hospitals" by U.S. News and World Report for the sixth time. This is a 105-bed acute care hospital located on the only pediatric academic health campus in New Jersey. Adjacent to the Children's hospital is the PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital which is one of the country's largest inpatient acute rehabilitation hospitals for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey - the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey as well as the Ronald MacDonald House. The outpatient services are located in the Rutgers Child Health Institute of NJ, a state-of-the-art 5-story facility that includes a Pediatric CRC and Pediatric subspecialty offices. Our New Brunswick-based clinical programs have achieved Accredited Status for Ambulatory Health Care by the Joint Commission, one of only a small number of academic ambulatory practices to receive this status.

The Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine is consistently ranked as one of the highly NIH-funded academic universities and Rutgers is a member of the Association of American Universities comprising the top comprehensive research universities in North America. As the State's premier institution, there are many opportunities to collaborate across campuses with all the health professional schools and biomedical science school at the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Of particular interest are potential affiliate memberships with the Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
