Rutgers School of Social Work ( SSW) is seeking a postdoctoral scholar interested in gaining further experience in campus and/or sexual violence research. This position is grant funded by the National Institute of Justice, and the postdoctoral scholar will report to and receive mentorship from Dr. Antoinette Y. Farmer, Professor and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The position is at Rutgers SSW, a well-funded school that has a portfolio that exceeds 50 million dollars. Rutgers SSW is ranked #16 among MSW programs in the nation, and is among the largest and most diverse social work programs in the United States, offering BASW, MSW, DSW, and Ph.D. degrees to over 2,000 diverse students across three campuses in Camden (Philadelphia metropolitan area), Newark (New York metropolitan area), and New Brunswick, the flagship campus.
The scholar will be involved in all phases of the data analysis process, including cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting the quantitative data, preparing manuscripts for publications, and presenting results at research conferences.
The postdoc will receive various career development opportunities including but not limited to submission of peer-reviewed articles, experience with multiple data analysis software, and training on dissemination and translation of findings to diverse audiences including scholars, community-based organizations, and other community members located both internationally and domestically.
The position will begin between November 1, 2023 and January 1, 2024. Candidates from groups underrepresented in higher education are strongly encouraged to apply. The duration of the postdoctoral fellowship is for one year; however, renewal for a second year is possible and based on performance and available funding. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, interested in forging collaborative relationships with members of the research team and have a strong commitment to social justice. The postdoc will be part of a vibrant cohort of postdoctoral scholars at Rutgers SSW engaged in research that aims to reduce health disparities and ensure racial, social, and economic justice. As part of this cohort, postdocs will engage in trainings on various topics and have the support of the faculty to begin their own research trajectory.

Essential job functions will include:
* Planning, organizing, coordinating, and participating in scientific research projects.
* Working closely with principal investigator, co-principal investigator, data consultant and other research team members.
* Provide expertise on data management, analysis, and interpretation.
* Provide experience-based recommendations and research direction as requested on studies conducted by, or on the behalf of, the principal investigator and/or co-principal investigator.
* Conduct research activities (extensive literature reviews) and edit reports, presentations, and other documents.
* Present findings of research to professional groups.
* Develop scientific documents for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Minimum Education and Experience
Qualifications
* PhD (or other doctoral degree) in social work, psychology, public health, sociology, or related behavioral/social science discipline.
* Knowledge and experience with campus climate and/or sexual violence research or violence research more broadly.
* Experience working on research projects with a research team, including students and staff.
* Be able to work independently when it comes to designing research projects and initiating research tasks.
* Quantitative data analytic skills using ( SPSS, MPlus, or Stata and written and verbal communication).
* Be able to assist in the development of manuscripts.
* Strong work ethic and commitment to becoming an independent scientist seeking a tenure-track faculty position.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A defined research agenda focusing on (but not limited to) campus climate and/or sexual violence research, and community-engaged research.
* Established record of scholarly research.
* Experience leading or managing research teams.
