Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track clinical faculty position in Internal Medicine. The faculty member will hold a clinical appointment at Monmouth Medical Center,
RWJ Barnabas Health at Long Branch NJ.
The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy is recognized on all levels, local, state,national, and international, as providing one of the most challenging,dynamic, and satisfying Programs of Study leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In concert with supportive faculty and staff, students at the School build a foundation for learning that continues long after graduation.
The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration focuses on the clinical and regulatory aspects of pharmacy practice. The mission of the Department is to participate in the preparation of students to provide pharmaceutical care in its varied practice settings. Graduating students are equipped with the necessary skills to adapt to a changing health care environment. Students are also provided with scientific fundamentals, ethics, and attitudes necessary to adapt their careers to changes in healthcare over their lifetime. This mission supports the overall mission of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in four critical areas: teaching, practice, scholarship, and service.
Monmouth Medical Center (
MMC) is a not-for-profit, 527-bed, regional tertiary care teaching hospital located in Long Branch, New Jersey.Monmouth's service area represents a population of nearly 1 million year-round residents in Monmouth, and portions of Ocean and Middlesex Counties in addition to the large population of tourists who are visiting.Admissions total more than 19,000 annually, and emergency visits total nearly 43,000 a year. Annual outpatient clinic visits top 126,000. The Leon Hess Cancer Center at
MMC offers state-of-the-art technology, cutting-edge treatment options, and participation in leading cancer trials. The Eisenberg Family Center delivers more than 5,400 babies annually-the most in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
MMC has the largest and most comprehensive behavioral health program in Monmouth County. Treatment is provided to children, adolescents and adults diagnosed with psychiatric and dual disorders. MMC's Emergency Department offered the region's first Geriatric Emergency Medicine (
GEM )unit and has a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department and the first peer-to-peer opioid overdose recovery program in the state.
MMC offers diverse Medicine, Surgery, and OB Residency Programs and education for Nursing and Allied Health professions. The Pharmacy Department also has a
PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency.
Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed at least two years of residency training or equivalent experience. Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey. |
