The Marketing Director - US Poultry and Swine is responsible for organizing and directing all technical marketing activities for poultry & swine products-pharmaceutical and biological-and services. The Marketing Director also manages the pricing and promotion of Ceva's range of poultry and swine vaccines. In addition, the Marketing Director oversees customer and internal events for the US poultry and swine business units.
* Direct a team of 4 marketing professionals, including the Immucox Range product manager, digital and events marketing associate, custom vaccines coordinator, and sales and marketing administrative assistant * Manage the US poultry and swine vaccine and pharmaceutical portfolio of products-Marek's, autogenous, coccidiosis, iron, RNA, bacterins-to include pricing, promotion, placement, and packaging * Build the short and long-range sales forecasts for each product and product range * Conduct market and competitive intelligence, including analyzing and reporting of CEESA data, USDA market data, and other third-party research * Prepare technical marketing materials and events-product information sheets, technical bulletins, scientific symposiums * Oversee customer and industry events and congresses-IPPE, AAAP, AASV, World Pork Expo * Support the development of new and innovative vaccines and vaccination equipment and techniques * Align objectives and coordinate activities with the Poultry and Swine sales and marketing teams * Serve as liaison and subject matter expert with the Zone and Corporate Poultry and Swine Franchise teams * Within Business Unit - participate in the senior leadership team for the US poultry and swine business units * In coordination with the Zone Marketing Director, manage external customer and industry marketing communications-trade print/online advertising, sponsorships, etc.-helping to improve Ceva's image/profitability * In coordination with the corporate franchise teams, establish and maintain the target, floor, and average selling prices for all US poultry and swine products * Provide Corporate and the Zone Franchise Manager feedback on current local market situations * Gather information and feedback from the sales and VSE teams and Customers. Share collected information with the VSE and other local teams. Share collected information with the Customer and store it internally within Ceva for later projects. * Define with the local team a Business Plan based on the Global Strategy established by Corporate. Be responsible for implementing the Business Plan. Gather feedback from the local teams to adjust and adapt the Business Plan as needed and provide feedback to Corporate. * Externally - Maintain positive professional relationships with Customers via regular visits, events, and/ or calls. Internally - Maintain strong professional relationships with Sales and VSE teams. Collaborate with the local teams to ensure the successful execution of the Business Plan. * Accompany the Sales team on major Key Account negotiations. Be the critical contact liaising between Corporate and local teams. Participate in monthly meetings with Corporate to review the current national situation and update all Customer Business Plans regularly during monthly meetings with the VSE teams and local Sales Managers. * Define/follow-up on key performance indicators throughout the year so that results can be analyzed and reported to Corporate, and further corrective actions taken, if needed. Report results to Key Customers via the appropriate tools when needed, participating in Annual Business Reviews and Pulse Meetings with Key Customers, VSE, and Sales teams. * Ensure compliance with purchase and/or customer rebate contracts, utilizing Ceva legal and finance teams as needed. * Attend Corporate-led training and congresses, seminars, and events related to professional areas of expertise. Engage in self-training for new technical updates to maintain up-to-date expertise and help create and publish technical articles. Hold local responsibility for spreading technical information and ensuring technical training for the entire local organization supporting Sales activities. * Deliver issues diagnoses, and Expert support, on demand. Conduct Key Customer visits, and provide professional consultation related to Ceva Poultry and Swine Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals. * Provide technical/ scientific advice to Customers (Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Distributors, Hatchery employees, etc.) and Sales employees. Ensure periodic training of the entire local organization on scientific/technical subjects, and develop some technical training activities, with the aim of sharing required/ requested knowledge and expertise with Key Customers. * Train local teams in offering practical guidance and advice to Customers.
Responsible for leading the technical marketing team for Poultry and Swine, serving as a vaccine and disease Subject Matter Expert (SME), executing marketing plans, budgets, pricing policies, and suggesting and implementing improvement areas by employing the below core competencies: * Shaping solutions out of complexity * Maintaining Client focus * Collaborating with empathy * Engaging and developing * Driving ambition and accountability * Influencing others
* Poultry and Swine Diseases Knowledge: Including viral and bacterial diseases. The ability to understand: Hatchery and on-farm activities, processes, key facts, and the relationships between Hatchery Industrial Processes and biological dimensions (i.e., eggs, embryos, chicks, etc.) and use appropriate technical vocabulary. Working knowledge of all segments of poultry and swine production. * Scientific Trials & Knowledge Management: The capability to analyze data and design, plan, and carry out trials using scientific approaches (e.g., forming and testing hypotheses). * Product Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of Ceva's Products and Services, as well as those of Ceva's Competitors. Have a knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the Products and Services currently available/ upcoming in the Market-the ability to defend Ceva Products and Services' value with Customers and within a Business-to-Business environment. * Communication & Presentation Skills: The ability to communicate efficiently and effectively, adapting to different audiences and situations as needed. Demonstrate empathy, emotional intelligence, and the capacity to capture an audience's attention and use appropriate technologies to improve message delivery. * Marketing & Value Generation: The ability to extract and share actionable information from data storage/analytics tools to grow business and execute meaningful performance analyses. Keep a look out for any new tools that could improve current performance and propose the right tools/concepts to manage performance.
Education - Bachelor's degree in animal or poultry sciences or a related advanced degree, such as DVM Work Experience - At least ten years in the poultry or swine industry with specific expertise in live production and/or animal health. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Must be able to read, speak, and understand English. Must be able to talk, see and hear. Must be able to ride in a plane or vehicle for up to 7 hours daily.
Ability to work remotely or from the Ceva USA office in Lenexa, Kansas (Kansas City metro).
20% domestic travel required. Some international travel, up to 5% annually.
