Department: Patient Dining Services Salary Range: $14.80 to $23.32 per hour based on experience. $2.50 per hour pay incentive on every hour worked, thru 12/7/24.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION




  1. Assure a high level of patient and family satisfaction and demonstrate service excellence through positive interaction with patients, nursing & other members of the patient care team; anticipating and working to meet the needs of patients, their families, and team members; and, promptly investigating unusual incidents and/or reporting concerns to supervisor. Communicate pertinent data observed during patient visits or phone calls to team members, appropriate supervisory personnel, and/or clinical nutrition staff.
  2. Present and instruct patients on meal delivery program(s) and recommend and/or determine appropriate food choices based on patient diet order. Assist patients or family members with ordering meals. Assist in determining patient capability to utilize current meal delivery program(s) with the guidance of clinical staff, and assess nutrition education needs and educate or contact clinical nutrition staff as needed to assure patients and families are educated as appropriate.
  3. Expedite delivery of nutrition care through the use of computer programs, such as CBORD, Cerner, IDX, and/or other automated equipment by: generating tray tickets and other reports as needed; monitoring and verify changes in diet orders or prescriptions; generating data for missed meals report & following up with patients per missed meal policy; generating patient list identifying patients with an enteral tube feeding order, gathering appropriate enteral feeding product, using conversion charts from cc's (or ml) to number of cans or bottles and ensuring its delivery; and performing other related clerical functions as requested.
  4. Assist in orientation and training of new employees.
  5. Use department resources prudently. Follow through with tasks and work-related concerns effectively and expeditiously. Own problems and job-related concerns and work to ensure a satisfactory resolution at all times. Demonstrate speed, accuracy, and ability to work calmly under pressure.
  6. Additional duties include: ordering office supplies and tube feeding supplies; maintaining adequate stock of supplies for diet office; demonstrating knowledge of the needs of varied age-specific populations, as well as, cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns; and other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired in necessary.



  • One year of responsible office experience. Education or training may be substituted for office experience. Degree in nutrition, hotel & restaurant management, hospitality service, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification by the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers &/or hospitality service &/or telecommunications experience preferred.
