Shift Available:




  • Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Weekends and holidays are required.


  • Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Weekends and holidays are required.

  • Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Weekends and holidays are required.


  • Monday through Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Weekends and holidays are required.

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Holidays required.



  • Weekdays, Monday- Friday, Operating Room Technologist, 930a-6p, holidays required, NO weekends.

For a limited time, sign-on bonuses will be available to eligible candidates for this position on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bonuses will be paid after successful candidates complete all pre-employment verifications and start in their new roles.

$10,000 - half ($5,000) paid after your start and half ($5,000) paid at your one-year mark. At the conclusion of your 1 year, you could enroll in the retention incentive (below) if it's still available as an option at that time.

Job Summary:

Direct patient care position. This position is to perform technical work in prescribed procedures for diagnostic radiographic studies of patients.

Detailed Description:

Operate various imaging equipment in department. Perform diagnostic quality radiographs. Work with various information systems (HIS, RIS, PACS). Demonstrate appropriate customer service skills. Provide basic patient care. Work with various information systems (HIS, RIS, PACS).

Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of advanced fluoroscopy equipment to produce special radiographic
images. Screen patients prior to imaging for fluoroscopy exam requested. Assist with procedure protocols and performance.
Administer contrast as directed per protocol. Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for imaging.
Evaluate images for technical quality, label with the appropriate Priority level to flow to correct list for reading by the
Radiologist.

Maintain accurate patient records. Provide orientation for new technologists. Understand and use the image archival
system (PACS). Operate specialized equipment such as the TIMS unit used for modified barium swallow exams, Trident machine for
imaging mammography specimens in the OR and utilization of the Cysto OR Room.

Provide education and training for student technologists. Assist with education and training of new physicians (interns,
residents, fellows and attending's) if applicable. Assist radiologists and physicists in developing new protocols and
techniques that are unique to MUHC.May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

General supervision is received from the Manager, Operations Program Coordinator, and Supervisor of Radiology.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Supervision over Student Tech Assistants and Students performing clinical rotations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ARRT certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within one (1) year as a condition of
continued employment in this job classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health
care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
