The Opportunity:
The NA EHS Senior Coordinator will support site and line management to implement key initiatives that drive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) performance and employee engagement in the El Segundo campus as primary focus, and across various locations in North America. This role will ensure compliance with EHS regulations, support the implementation of global EHS strategies, and foster a proactive and integrated approach to EHS in all functions.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Implement actions outlined in site-specific EHS plans and programs.
- Monitor compliance with established plans and programs, identifying areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate the submission of required EHS regulatory reports to external agencies.
- Conduct environmental and industrial hygiene recordkeeping, monitoring, and reporting.
- Record injuries and incidents, submit reports to internal stakeholders, and assist in conducting investigations and root cause analysis.
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards through risk assessment and regular safety walks.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support business needs while ensuring EHS compliance.
- Assist in the local implementation of Mattel's Global EHS strategy.
- Coordinate risk mitigation programs such as local office ergonomics.
- Conduct and coordinate internal audit schedules and external certification audits.
- Coordinate local EHS employee engagement programs (e.g., safety week, NA EHS gatherings).
- Collect, analyze, and upload key local environmental, safety, and sustainability metrics into an online platform.
- Assist with implementation and execution of local EHS and sustainability employee engagement activities and campaigns (e.g. Capabilities Fair).
- Drive a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Coordinate and conduct basic EHS training for internal stakeholders.
- Support facility EHS leads in implementing key programs.
- Escalate compliance and incident issues to the facility leadership team as necessary.

- Able to travel regionally in North America (15-25% travel, based on projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BSc degree in a scientific, engineering, or EHS-related field.
- Holder of recognized and valid safety engineer certificate as required by authority.
- Technical knowledge of EHS is preferred.
The base hourly range for this position is $31.00- $39.00.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience
