Position Summary
The Neurology Department at UNC Chapel Hill is seeking a senior-level Psychometrist to join the Epilepsy Division. The position will lead the neuropsychological and psychological assessment services across multiple divisions, including Memory and Cognitive Disorders, Movement Disorders, and Epilepsy. This senior-level position will involve working closely with neurologists, neuropsychologists, and psychometrists to ensure the highest standards of assessment and patient care. The Psychometrist will be responsible for overseeing the administration, analysis, and interpretation of a diverse range of neuropsychological and psychological assessment tools, contributing to diagnostic conclusions and patient treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight-
* Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance assessment services and patient outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with departmental and institutional standards for patient care and assessment protocols.
Clinical Collaboration-
* Collaborate with neurologists and neuropsychologists to design and refine assessment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss assessment results and contribute to diagnostic and treatment decisions.
Advanced Assessment and Analysis-
* Oversee the administration of a wide range of neuropsychological and psychological assessment tools.
* Conduct complex analyses and interpret assessment results to provide comprehensive diagnostic insights.
* Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of scoring and interpretation processes.
Documentation and Reporting-
* Supervise the documentation of assessment findings and ensure the maintenance of accurate and detailed patient medical records.
* Prepare and present detailed reports on assessment results and diagnostic conclusions to the multidisciplinary team.
Patient and Family Support-
* Provide expert guidance and support to patients and their families regarding assessment procedures, findings, and implications.
* Develop educational materials and resources to help patients and families understand the assessment process and results.
Professional Development and Advancement-
* Stay current with advancements in neuropsychological and psychological assessment tools and techniques.
* Promote and support continuous professional development within the assessment team through training and education.
* Represent the department at conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance the department's reputation and knowledge base.
Quality Improvement and Research-
* Lead initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of neuropsychological assessment services.
* Collaborate on research projects to advance the field of neuropsychological assessment and contribute to scholarly publications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Strong proficiency in neuropsychological assessment software and statistical analysis tools.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and ethical guidelines in neuropsychological assessment.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The preferred candidate will have a degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related field. Previous experience in administering neuropsychological or psychological assessments. Empathy and patience to work with individuals who may have various psychological or neurological conditions. Certification as a psychometrist, such as from the Board of Certified Psychometrists ( BCP).
