We Are Hiring:Surgical Assistant - Waukesha Memorial Hospital 1.0 FTE

Schedule:

PM shift - end time of 2130 (8/10/12 hour shifts will be considered)

Call 1-2 nights/week

Weekend/holiday rotation

In a single day, staff from 4 specialty based teams work within 16 Operating Room Suites to handle as many as 40 cases ranging from Cardiothoracic, Neuro/Orthopedics/Dental, General/Vascular/ ENT, GYN, Urology, to Plastics surgery. Waukesha Memorial Hospitals Operating Rooms average 8,500 procedures annually including da Vinci Robotic procedures performed within more specialties routinely than any other facility in SE Wisconsin. The OR suite also includes a newly built Hybrid OR and a fully integrated Minimally Invasive Robotic room.


What You Will Do:

A Surgical Assistant functions as a member of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person. Working under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures. You will possess advanced expertise in the theory and application of sterile technique and aseptic technique and combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of the invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.

What You Will Need:



  • Graduate of a Surgical Tech program and a two year surgical first assist program or an accredited NBSTA/CSFA/SA program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire
