Job Description

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Department at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applications for one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applications are sought from candidates who can help the department conduct innovative research and provide world-class education.

Candidates should have expertise in either solid mechanics/aerospace structures or fluid dynamics. MU has instigated momentum with resources for interdisciplinary research collaboration through Mizzou Forward Initiatives in thermal and fluid sciences, innovative materials, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing process to build on the department's unique academic strengths.

The successful candidates will be expected to participate in and develop an interdisciplinary team that will be a world leader in the field. The successful candidate will be able to take part in the growth of the College of Engineering and join a rich environment for collaboration with other faculty in the college. The College of Engineering is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching, and/or service to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a doctoral degree awarded in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field by the time they start their position within the University. Candidates will be evaluated on demonstration of professional vision, leadership, and guidance in their respective teaching and research areas.
